Email Documents with Omnistar Document Management Software
Omnistar Document Management Software, our online file manager software, is built from the bottom up to give you as many options as possible when giving acces to your documents. One of the many ways we integrated was the ability to email files from the document manager, a system that simply sends a link to a file on your server, allowing you to send files and bypass typical server restrictions on file size.

Step 1: Select the document
From the documents page, find the document or documents you wish to email, either from the main page or within a folder. Select the checkbox next to the documents you wish to send, and click the mail selected button. |
Step 2: Create Email
Create an email using the available fields. Enter a subject line, select the users or groups you wish to send the email to, and add any other addresses not stored in the system to the CC field. Set how long the link will be active. This allows you to limit the amount of time a recipient has access to a file, which helps keep documents secure. Enter the html text of the email, or simply enter plain text. Click Send and the email will be sent out. |
Step 3 Optional: Customize Email
You have the option of customizing the email with the place-holder terms that appear under the text box. These terms can be used to customize an email that is being sent internally, allowing you to address the recipients by name, and include links to different parts of the software. The ability to customize emails helps improve open rate, but should not be used if you are sending emails primarily to users outside of the software. |
